Here is economic, almost monochrome, color, light kind of chiaroscuro of grey, rainy days.Here light North, counting, traces and marks time, the recurrent poses and summary staging, the models that I'm not looking to choose, I take as they or they come, not too much sense.Why? I would be in sentence to explain air of time perhaps, route accomplished the image and the life no doubt. A certain sadness.Always this obsessive quest for the truth of bodies and faces, skins, human beings. Impenetrable and surly, truth that constantly scrolls as they shirk, and yet exposed short privileged moments.

 

This project has received the support of the French Ministry of Culture-(upper Normandy Regional Directorate) in may 2012 individual assistance to the creation grant. the series is created with the Gallery Pierre Brullé in Paris in October 2013.

HUMANITIES

No doubt the life and work are a circle of circles that are hugs and eventually return there where it began. For me this was the picture and there is probably something in Humanities who returned with the procession of the models of Wednesday afternoon, in the studios to headlamps fitted with Fresnel lenses and plan-convexe of my discovery fascinated photography at sixteen of these images that I've called Primitives .

But if it is back to the origins, it is also probably the source of the photograph, the first daguerreotypes to the nudes of Gustave Legray, the nude portraits of Bellocq…

And perhaps even to the origins of the drawing that Pliny the elder. Drawing studies. Because that is studies in question.

And even if it a circle it is probably a return to this cavernous languor of my first photographs of footprints for example.

This melancholic hue breaks with the colours bright and sunny, with this species of realization dionysiaco-tragic and sometimes lyrical of the series previous colors, those of the revenge of the flesh or praise of love .
